I love Easter. Such a wonderful time to take a break, be with family, go for walks or bike rides and take time for ourselves.
From a religious standpoint it’s about contemplating the crucifixion of Jesus and his resurrection but what’s important is the metaphorical message that comes from that.
Irrespective of your faith or belief there’s a message in this for all of us…and that is to let go of what no longer serves us, which then creates the space required for something new to fill the void.
And yes…you can eat all the easter eggs and hot cross buns you like whilst you consider this 😉
Are you up for some Easter reflections?
If you’re up for taking time to consider what isn’t working for you and your team, you could make some insightful discoveries that lead to positive change.
What would you like to say ‘goodbye’ to?
You need to be really honest with yourself here. Give yourself the time and space to do this deeply and effectively. Take a deep breath and write down all the things that pop into your head. You may not say goodbye to all of them but allowing your pen to flow without interruption creates the outpouring that leads to deeper insights.
You can also do this whilst out walking by recording your thoughts on your phone if that’s easier.
If you’ve never done this before here’s a framework to help you navigate the process.
Step 1 Acknowledge what isn’t working for you
Step 2 Own the part you play in contributing to what’s not working
Step 3 Commit to letting go
You may need a pause at this point. What needs to be created may come later after more contemplation. Don’t give yourself a hard time if your options aren’t immediately obvious.
Step 4 Commit to what you want to give birth to…or commit to allowing the space to be there until something shows up.
Give yourself the time you need to simply go with it. It takes as long as it takes.
Looking back on my own life, I often find that the greatest creativity comes after a time of emptiness and a struggle to come up with something quickly. When I leave the space open, invariably something great comes to me.
This could be a wonderful opportunity for you to make some truly powerful changes that positively impact your sales leadership and the success of your team.
Until next time…
Leigh 😊
