Last week I had a kindle launch of my sales leadership new book Grow Your People, Grow Your Sales. For 2 days the kindle version was only 99p instead of the usual £2.99.
The publisher’s outcome of this launch is to get the kindle version to the top of the Amazon charts so that their authors become No 1 Best Sellers, which is great for them and great for me.
Before the launch, my colleague Jonathan and I planned our strategy using social media, email, WhatsApp and text messages. I primed all my friends and family to download the kindle on the specific day.
Launch day
On the first day of the launch, I was at my laptop at 7am and with an outcome to get a No 1 Best Seller by the end of the day.
I’m delighted to say, we achieved that by mid-afternoon!
It was a massive team effort on our side…and an overwhelming level of kindness and support from all those we reached out to that purchased the kindle.
The Learning Reminders
I was reminded of some really important things that day:
- Having an outcome at the start of the day primes your mind to focus on achieving it
- Your network is a wonderful thing
- Being kind and generous with all those you meet along the way gets returned to you in spades when you ask for help
- Sometimes you just have to shout from the rooftops
The messages and comments I got on my social media posts were stunning…I felt genuinely loved by so many. It was heart-warming and humbling.
Conversations started, great feedback from people that have read my book, so much more awareness of me, what I do and what I stand for.
So, flipping this over to you…where could you be doing more of these actions?
Until next time,
Leigh 😊
PS If you’ve got value from reading my book could you please take a few minutes to give me an Amazon review I would really appreciate it and it really helps spread the word for great sales leadership…thank you 😊
